Compliance

Compliance and due diligence are the building blocks of the foundation on which sustainability is built. It is a continuous effort that requires surveillance, analysis and inquiries. It is also work that we enjoy doing as it gives us a greater insight into our supply chain and helps us grow even closer relationships with suppliers.

As a part of the MESSAGE A/S organisation, we work hard to strengthen this foundation.

Code of Conduct and Policies

Our suppliers are our closest partners in the work to become a more responsible business. Therefore, we require all our suppliers to read and sign our Code of Conduct and policies. These documents are a direct expression of our values and priorities, and by signing them our suppliers show that they share our ambitions and approach to CSR.

Our Code of Conduct is based on the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and UNs Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It contains aspects concerning the environment, animal rights, corruption and whistleblowing. All of which we expect our suppliers to respect with regard to current legislation. Moreover, these are further described in the policies below.

Anti-corruption Policy

Supply chain mapping

Our suppliers are some of our most important stakeholders. Therefore, we put great effort into gaining a complete overview of our suppliers through an annual supplier mapping, for which we have managed to map all direct suppliers (tier 1) and around 50% of our tier 2 suppliers by now.

With the aim of gaining more knowledge about our direct suppliers' subcontractors as well, we are in the process of mapping out even further of our supply chain.

This mapping helps us manage our supply chain and gain control over both the manufacturing and processing units that we both directly and indirectly must be responsible for. More detailed, a mapping of our supply chain means we are able to increase the level of transparency, mitigate risks, enhance efficiency and maintain a high standard with regard to documentation and compliance with requirements and regulations.

The map below shows in which countries our direct suppliers are located. The number of suppliers in each country is based on our resent mapping of our tier 1 suppliers.

Risk assessment

The supplier mapping is significant for our annual risk assessment which contains information about countries and addresses, processes, product categories, social audits conducted, and certifications held.

Depending on our annual supplier segmentation, our suppliers have either completed a social audit by a professional independent third-party auditor or filled out a self-assessment questionnaire with pictures for visual proof.
