Polyester

Wash
Avoid bad odour by washing polyester and other synthetic materials immediately after use. We recommend you always wear a cotton layer underneath, to limit washing.

Keep the washing of your synthetic garments to a minimum. Washing it too much will cause the fabric to break and tear.

Stains should be treated before the garment is washed.

Loading your washing machine to the brim, might seem like the most responsible way to wash garments. But, by doing so, you risk damaging the products inside. So, fill your machine but make sure not to overload it.

30 degrees is often enough to clean polyester garments, but make sure to always consult the care label. Remember that the listed temperature is the highest and not recommended temperature.
Acrylic fibers must not be washed at more than 40 degrees.

Synthetic fabrics releases microplastics into the water when washed. Please use a microplastics collecting washing bag.

Dry
Synthetic fabrics dry very quickly, so there is no need for tumble-drying. Air drying will be enough. Tumble-drying is tough on the material and will decrease its use phase.

Put your garment into its correct shape before you hang it to dry.

Store
Synthetic fabrics generally stay in shape when dry, so they are just fine stored on a good quality hanger. Synthetic knitwear should however be stored folded.

Iron & steam
Synthetic fabrics can become misshaped in wash. Ironing can help make them return to their right shape. Always consult the care label for the setting of your iron.

If the product is only slightly creased or wrinkled, you can use a steam iron or hang it in the bathroom while taking a shower.

Stains
Always treat the garment before washing, for the best chances of removing the stain.

Not all stains were created equally, and the best treatment always depends on the specific of stain. Therefore, we recommend that you always consult the internet before treating the stain.

Resist the urge to rub the stain, as this will only make matters worse and damage the fabric.

After use

Please make good use of your product. Use it, and use it a lot, for as many years as absolutely possible.

Repair it if it gets damaged and take it to a tailor if it doesn’t fit you anymore. Please don’t throw out your product. Fabric is a valuable resource that should not be wasted.

If you reach a point where you do not wish to use the product anymore, we ask that you sell it, donate it, bring it to a take-back station or repurpose its fabric in a creative project.
