Wool

Wash
Wool is a delicate material, with amazing properties that has to be protected. In this case, the most important property is its ability to self-clean. That means you only have to wash it when it is visibly dirty, as long as you wear something else underneath during use.

It is always a good idea to air out your wool products. Hang them outside in the shade on a wide hanger of good quality as often as possible.

For outerwear and blazers, we recommend that you take it to a dry cleaner, to best protect your product.

For knitwear, we recommend gentle machine washing on the wool program opposed to handwashing. Always use a special detergent suited for wool, and make sure not to overload the machine. Place embellished items in a washing bag.

Stains should be treated before the garment is washed for the best result.

Always consult the care label before washing garments. Remember that the listed temperature is the highest and not recommended temperature.

Dry
Wool is especially vulnerable when wet. Do not hang it to dry, as you risk that it becomes misshapen. Dry it on a flat surface with an absorbent material, such as a towel, underneath. A horizontal drying rack is well-suited because it allows for more ventilation.

Store
Store your wool product in a well-ventilated closet or on a shelf, either folded or rolled.

Iron & steam
Wool products rarely need to be ironed or steamed. If so, remember to consult the care label.

Stains
Always treat the garment before washing, for the best chances of removing the stain.

Not all stains were created equally, and the best treatment always depends on the specific of stain. Therefore, we recommend that you always consult the internet before treating the stain.
Resist the urge to rub the stain, as this will only make matters worse and damage the fabric.

Treat
Wool and knitwear tend to pill when used. Pilling is the small balls of wool that often appears in areas with a lot of friction, such as armpits and down the sides.

To remove them, and freshen up the look of your wool product, use a fabric shaver. Do not use a razor or your hands, as this might do more damage than good.

After use

Please make good use of your product. Use it, and use it a lot, for as many years as absolutely possible.

Repair it if it gets damaged and take it to a tailor if it doesn’t fit you anymore. Please don’t throw out your product. Fabric is a valuable resource that should not be wasted.

If you reach a point where you do not wish to use the product anymore, we ask that you sell it, donate it, bring it to a take-back station or repurpose its fabric in a creative project.
